1. Agreement

By using Merge PDF Online (the “site”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. What the service is

The site provides a browser-based tool that combines PDF files, unlocked with a one-time licence. All processing takes place on your own device. We do not receive, store or transmit your documents. Because of that, we have no ability to access, restore or recover any file you process here.

3. Licence and refunds

A licence is a personal, non-exclusive right to use the tool, paid once. It does not expire and there is no recurring charge. Your key is delivered by the payment provider by email; keep that message, as it is your record of purchase.

If the tool does not do what you needed, contact us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund — no reason required. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. We may revoke a licence key that is refunded, charged back, or shared publicly.

A standard licence covers the devices you personally use. Team, redistribution and white-label use require a separate written agreement.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the site to:

• process content you do not have the right to use, or that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy;
• create material that is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory or harmful;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse engineer for malicious purposes, or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure;
• remove or obscure copyright notices, watermarks or licence information that the document owner placed there, where doing so would be unlawful.

You are responsible for the files you process and for complying with any law or contractual duty that applies to them.

5. No warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or uninterrupted availability. PDF is a complex format, and some documents — encrypted files, damaged files, unusual encodings or forms with conflicting field names — may not merge correctly.

Always keep your original files. Check the merged document before relying on it, especially for legal, financial, medical or official purposes.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue or goodwill arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for your licence.

7. Intellectual property

The site's design, text, code and branding are owned by us or used with permission. You may not copy or redistribute the site's content as your own. Your documents remain entirely yours and are never licensed to us, because we never receive them.

The PDF-processing engine is built on open-source software, primarily pdf-lib, distributed under the MIT licence. Trademarks such as Adobe and Acrobat belong to their respective owners and are used here only for descriptive purposes.

8. Advertising and third-party links

The site is funded by licence sales. Guide pages may also display advertising, and the site contains links to third-party websites. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies or practices of those third parties.

9. Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time without notice, and may update these terms. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the site operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
